Halloween Vampyre Make-up

I thought I would take the chance to address a little more personal note to everyone who cares to read this although I don't even know how to begin this properly.

Coming up with the right idea, filming and editing the Halloween video above took about four days (or nights) but every minute was worth staying up all night to add the final touches or sound designing the voice over. I know it's not perfect and not a masterpiece but the feedback on this particular video has been so positive, sweet and supportive that I feel very flattered. My favourite make-up brand Illamasqua (that inspired me to do this video) picked the clip as one of their favourites and posted it on their Facebook and Twitter account.

I noticed that sweet peeps and great YouTube gurus just like Tine (aka NetmomFreundin), Sarah (aka DaTommyGirl) and not to forget my dearest Mara and Reni were tweeting the video url and spread the word even before I had tweeted the link myself. Fellow beauty blogger and Twitter friend Mrs. Petruschka posted the video along with very nice words on her blog.

I just felt that I had to take the opportunity to thank each and single one of you who shows support by rating a video, leaving a comment with their feedback or subscribing to my channel or blog. In fact, if it wasn't for the community and the exchange with you, I probably would have stopped making videos on a more regular basis for quite a while as this hobby started to get really time consuming at a certain point.

I am sending my sincerest apologies for my English which is far from perfect but hope things came out right or at least close to what I was really trying to say, so let me close this blog post with a simple but heartfelt -

Concealer Swatches & Vergleiche

Ich glaube, die Frage nach dem Concealer bekommt jeder mit am häufigsten gestellt, der das Thema Beauty auf YouTube diskutiert. Also habe ich heute einmal damit begonnen meine Concealer für euch zu swatchen. Möglicherweise ist hierbei für einige ein Vergleich zwischen der eher hochpreisigere Camouflage Cream Palette von Make Up For Ever und der sehr günstigen Allround Concealer Palette von Catrice interessant. Dies zunächst als Übersicht, was ich überhaupt besitze und verwende - an mir oder Models und Kunden. (Ausgeklammert ist momentan die Concealer Palette von Kosmetik Kosmo, die ich, wenn ihr mögt, einmal seperat swatchen kann. Mein Arm hatte definitiv nicht genug Platz. Tipps + Tricks: Half-Lashes selbst gemacht

Wie ein paar Leser vielleicht schon wissen, bin ich ein bekennender Wimpern-Fan und vielleicht gerade deshalb auch zumeist sehr selektiv und skeptisch und finde bei preisgünstigen Varianten oftmals nichts, was mich im fertigen Ergebnis wirklich zufrieden stellt in puncto Verarbeitung des Wimpernkranzes oder Tragekomfort. Vor Kurzem ist mir ein Wimpernpaar von P2 in die Hände gefallen. Ich bin von dem Wimpernsortiment (ich habe drei verschiedene Ausführungen entdeckt) generell nicht allzu begeistert, da sie sehr nach Plastik aussehen. Bei dem Paar, was ich euch hier zeigen möchte, habe ich mir aber von Form und Bindung sofort gedacht, dass sich daraus für nicht mal 3,- EUR tolle Half Lashes selber machen lassen, die sich für einen sehr betonten und gehobenen Augenaufschlag für einen speziellen Abend oder auch ein effektvolles Fantasy-Makeup als tauglich erwiesen haben. Hier sieht ihr, wie ich daraus die preisgünstige Variante von Half Lashes gezaubert habe, die ich in meinem Metropolen-Look benutzt habe, dass ihr vielleicht auf dem YouTube-Kanal von Frag die Gurus schon gesehen habt.

Illamasqua Lipstick Box

I thought I'd post a swatch of the lipstick in the colour Box by Illamasqua for you. I got a few requests from English readers of this blog, that's why I am typing English again.

Although I heard that most colour swatches on the official Illamasqua site are pretty accurate this particular swatch always seems to bit a bit off no matter what colour setting your screen might have. I double-checked on serveral computers but found that it always looked very different from the actual colour, so here's my swatch for you to decide for yourself.



I really like this lipstick for its cool, kind of pinkish undertone and texture. Although it's got a mat finish, it doesn't look too dry or cakey on my lips and reminds me a little of MAC's Mattene Lipsticks. Seeing that Illamasqua is all about colour, the colour pay off is insanely rich, of course. I also love how bright and true to the colour this product comes out in flashlight photography. I will probably grab this shade a lot in the future when going for the perfect red lip.

Illamasqua Powder Eye Shadow Synth

Hier nun der Illamasqua-Lidschatten in der Farbe Synth aus der "Dystopia"-Kollektion. Obwohl der Glitter im Makro so nach festen Partikeln aussieht (Karnevalsschminke lässt grüßen!), hinterlässt er auf der Haut einen eher weichen Schimmer und ich mag ihn momentan sehr gerne als glänzenden Akzent für dezentere Looks. Bei direkter Lichteinstrahlung, wie auf dem Swatch (leider nach oben hin etwas aufgeweicht) zu erkennen, macht sich ein subtil-violetter dualer Ton aus. Dennoch - einzeln kein unbedingtes Must-Have würde ich sagen, es sei denn man mag diese ganz leichten, pastelligen Töne und Highlighter. In einem der Quads in der Kollektion aber gewiss eine vervollständigende Beigabe.
